AP Precalculus

AP Precalculus is designed to prepare students for calculus and other advanced math and science disciplines by focusing on functions as models of dynamic phenomena. Almost all of our students achieve the highest score of 5 on the AP exam.

Key Components and Topics
  • Functions Modeling Change: The core focus is on how quantities change together, creating a foundation for calculus.
  • Core Units: The curriculum covers Polynomial and Rational Functions, Exponential and Logarithmic Functions, Trigonometric and Polar Functions, Functions Involving Parameters, Vectors, and Matrices.
  • Analytical Skills: Students focus on applying mathematical reasoning, modeling real-world data, and understanding the theoretical implications of concepts rather than mere memorization.
